Amanda Seyfried recently shared a strange and funny memory from the set of “Dear John,” involving her co-star Channing Tatum. The story came up during a new interview with Deadline, published on January 15, where Seyfried was asked to talk about one of her favorite behind-the-scenes moments from her career.

Seyfried and Tatum starred together in the 2010 romantic drama based on Nicholas Sparks’ novel. While the movie itself was emotional and serious, Seyfried said the atmosphere on set was anything but heavy. She explained that she and Tatum joked around constantly while filming.

“I don’t know if it’s my favorite, but it’s fun to talk about because it just goes to show the relationship that I have with Channing Tatum and Dear John,” Seyfried said in the Deadline interview. She added that they spent the entire shoot pranking each other and keeping things light. “He’s very, very funny, and we had a great time. He peed on my leg once without me knowing.”

Seyfried went on to explain how the prank happened during a beach shoot. At first, she did not realize what was going on. “He peed on my leg on the beach, and I didn’t realize at first, and then I was like, ‘Oh, that’s why he’s standing so close to me,’” she said.

The situation almost got worse when a nearby crew member unknowingly picked up a coffee cup that had been placed too close during the prank. Seyfried said she managed to stop the makeup artist before anything embarrassing happened. “Well, I saved her,” she said.

This was not the first time Seyfried talked about her easy chemistry with Tatum. In a past interview with E! News, she said the two of them shared a similar attitude on set and did not take themselves too seriously. “We don’t take anything too seriously, but we’re shooting a movie that’s very heavy,” she said at the time, explaining that joking around helped balance the emotional story. She even called Tatum her favorite co-star up to that point.

Seyfried became widely known in the 2000s thanks to roles in “Mean Girls,” “Veronica Mars,” “Big Love,” and “Mamma Mia!” She later went on to lead romantic films like “Dear John” and “Letters to Juliet,” building a career that mixes drama, comedy, and musical roles.
