Amanda Seyfried is stepping into a new chapter both personally and professionally. In a recent interview with Porter magazine, photographed by Chantal Anderson and styled by Charlotte Blazeby, Seyfried opened up about her latest projects, motherhood, and how she no longer feels pressure to prove herself in Hollywood.

Seyfried is in the middle of a hectic awards season, with two very different films, The Housemaid and The Testament of Ann Lee, coming out within days of each other. She described the past few months as a whirlwind.

“Never in my life have I been this busy,” she said. But instead of feeling overwhelmed, Seyfried views this time as a period of growth. “I’m embracing myself in this new decade in a way that I wondered if I’d be able to when I was a little younger,” she reflected. “I kind of value myself a little differently in that, wow, I got here and I’m doing OK.”

In The Housemaid, Seyfried plays Nina Winchester, a strict matriarch whose dark secrets are central to the story. She called Nina a “very indulgent role” that allowed her to explore anger and assertiveness in ways she hadn’t before. “I got to explore my RAGE in this movie in a way that I’ve NEVER gotten to do. I OWE it so much,” Seyfried said.

Her on-screen chemistry with co-star Sydney Sweeney is a key element of the film, which combines suspense and tension with moments of dark humor. Seyfried also shared a funny behind-the-scenes moment about a slap scene that didn’t go exactly as scripted.

Meanwhile, The Testament of Ann Lee presented an entirely different challenge. Seyfried plays the 18th-century leader of the Shaker movement, a role that required a year of preparation including dialect and movement coaching.

She described the experience as deeply spiritual, saying, “I’ve never FELT closer to some kind of SPIRITUALITY than right now because of what [Ann Lee] taught me.” The role demanded both physical and emotional commitment, with many scenes relying on song, dance, and expressive movement rather than dialogue. Seyfried called it an opportunity to connect with something bigger and more profound than herself.

Outside of her work, Seyfried is focused on family life. She and her husband, Thomas Sadoski, are raising their children Nina and Thomas on a rural Upstate New York farm. She explained how this lifestyle helps her children understand her fame without letting it take over their lives. “It’s way less Hollywood noise… They know that they’re safe at home and have their own privacy,” she said.

The photoshoot for Porter captures Seyfried in elegant and modern looks that reflect her confidence and new approach to life. From bold designer pieces to sleek, minimal styling, the images show a woman fully embracing her age, her work, and her personal evolution.

Seyfried summed up her current mindset with a powerful statement: “I don’t feel like I have anything to prove to Hollywood anymore – to my peers or the industry… I want people to say, ‘She could have been anyone.’”
