Amber Heard Reveals New Life in Spain Following Her Name Change
Amber Heard has shared a small look into her life in Spain, posting a holiday update that included memories from past Thanksgiving celebrations and a rare photo of one of her children.
The actress, who moved from the United States to Spain in 2022 after the intense defamation trial with Johnny Depp, put together a collection of images that showed how she has marked the holiday through the years.
In her post, Heard wrote, “Thanksgiving cheers over the years. A look back at all the full hearts and plates I’ve shared. Hoping you are well topped up on both this year.” She included photos of herself preparing meals at different times in her life, including one where she posed with her father, David Heard, while they cooked together. She also shared a picture of her child sitting in a high chair during a Thanksgiving meal, something she very rarely shows online.
Heard became a mother in April 2021 when her daughter, Oonagh Paige, was born through a surrogate. She later told her followers that the decision to become a single parent was something she had been thinking about for years. “Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child,” she wrote at the time. “I wanted to do it on my own terms.” She also said she hoped that people could accept that a woman does not need to be married to have a family. “My daughter was born on April 8, 2021. Her name is Oonagh Paige Heard. She’s the beginning of the rest of my life.”
In May of this year, Heard announced that she had welcomed twins, also through surrogacy. She shared a photo of their feet and wrote, “Mother’s Day 2025 will be one I’ll never forget. This year I am elated beyond words to celebrate the completion of the family I’ve strived to build for years.” The news surprised many fans, as she had kept her growing family private.
Her move to Spain came after years of legal battles and public attention surrounding her marriage and split from Johnny Depp.
The two divorced in 2016, and their conflict continued through a widely covered defamation case. A jury later ruled that Heard had defamed Depp on several statements, and that he had defamed her on one. They reached a settlement after Heard chose to end her appeal, and she agreed to pay Depp $1 million.
