‘American Horror Story’ Season 13 Loses Ariana Grande Due to Unexpected Conflicts
Ariana Grande will not be making her long-awaited debut in FX’s ‘American Horror Story’ Season 13 after all. According to Deadline, the pop star had to step away from the upcoming season because of scheduling issues caused by changes to the show’s production timeline and her ongoing ‘Eternal Sunshine Tour.’
Deadline reported that Grande was never able to film any scenes for the horror anthology series. While she was expected to be part of the new season, the timing changes made it impossible for the singer and actress to commit to the project. Neither FX nor 20th Television has commented on Grande’s absence from the season.
The news comes after fans noticed that Grande was missing while the cast was filming exterior scenes for Season 13. Deadline had previously revealed that several stars from the upcoming season were spotted shooting, but Grande’s absence raised questions among viewers. It was later confirmed that scheduling conflicts were the reason behind her not appearing.
Grande’s busy touring schedule appears to have played a major role in the decision. Her ‘Eternal Sunshine Tour’ has been taking place at the same time as the show’s production, creating a conflict that could not be resolved. Deadline also reported that the singer recently adjusted several concert dates, including moving some July performances in New York and Boston.
Although Grande will not be joining the cast, ‘American Horror Story’ Season 13 is still bringing back many familiar faces. The new season will feature the return of several franchise favorites, including Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange, and Emma Roberts.
Other returning cast members include Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, John Waters, and Leslie Grossman. The season will also feature appearances from John Carroll Lynch, Mena Suvari, and Matt Fraser, who are expected to reprise characters from previous installments.
New additions to the franchise include Paul Anthony Kelly, Berto Colón, and Joey Pollari, who will be making their first appearances in the long-running horror series. Deadline also reported that Frances Conroy and Alex Consani were spotted filming scenes, though details about their roles remain under wraps.

FX has not revealed the official storyline for Season 13 yet, keeping most plot details secret ahead of its premiere. The new season is set to debut on September 24, continuing the anthology format that has allowed the series to explore different horror stories with each installment.
The upcoming season will also receive promotion at San Diego Comic-Con, where FX is expected to highlight the return of the popular franchise.
While Ariana Grande’s involvement would have been a major headline for the new season, ‘American Horror Story’ Season 13 still has a large lineup of returning stars. For now, fans will have to wait to see what direction creator Ryan Murphy and the rest of the team take the series when it returns later this year.
