It seems Megyn Kelly doesn’t agree with the winner of the best podcast award at the 2026 Golden Globes. Amy Poehler took home the inaugural trophy Sunday night for her Good Hang podcast, but not even 24 hours later, Kelly took to Monday’s episode of The Megyn Kelly Show to rip into the comedian and her interview style.

“Amy Poehler won. That’s no shock, they gave it to one of their own,” Kelly said. She admitted she had never actually watched the podcast but claimed that from the clips she had seen, she felt she wasn’t missing much.

Kelly specifically targeted a recent episode featuring Gwyneth Paltrow, calling the conversation uninspired and unrelatable. She mocked the way the stars discussed their busy lives and getting tired early, sarcastically labeling the exchange as “riveting.”

The former Fox News host also pointed out a factual blunder where Poehler mistakenly thought Paltrow had starred in the film Cold Mountain. “She didn’t show Gwyneth Paltrow the respect of actually understanding what her body of work is,” Kelly added, calling the error embarrassing and disrespectful for an award winner.

Good Hang managed to beat out a heavy-hitting field of nominees, including Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Call Her Daddy, and the fan-favorite SmartLess. During her acceptance speech, Poehler joked about her fellow nominees, particularly taking a playful jab at NPR.

“I’m big fans of all of you, except for NPR,” Poehler quipped on the Beverly Hilton stage. “Just a bunch of celebs phoning it in. Try harder.”

Kelly previously revealed that she had intentionally withdrawn her own high-ranking podcast from consideration for the new category. She explained that she had “zero interest in their stupid awards” and felt the campaign process was a bizarre dog-and-pony show she wanted no part of.

Despite the criticism, Poehler is entering 2026 at a career high, balancing her podcasting success with several major acting and directing projects.

Fans can also expect to hear more from her in the animation world following the massive success of Inside Out 2 last year. She is currently attached to several upcoming voice projects and continues to be a staple in the comedy community through her involvement with the Upright Citizens Brigade.

The 2026 Golden Globes, hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser, marked a significant shift for the organization as it embraced digital media categories for the first time. While the inclusion of podcasts has sparked debate among traditionalists and commentators like Kelly, the ratings for the broadcast suggested a renewed public interest in the ceremony.

Poehler’s win solidified her status as a versatile force in the industry, capable of conquering television, film, and now the burgeoning world of digital audio. As she heads to Greece to begin production on her new series, the Good Hang podcast remains a top performer on the charts.

Do you think Megyn Kelly has a point about celebrity podcasts being “insightless,” or was she just being a sore loser after withdrawing from the category? Share your thoughts in the comments.
