Ana de Armas Dares to Bare in Sheer Black Dress In a Throwback
Ana de Armas is back in the spotlight, but this time fans are looking back. Social media has been buzzing with throwback videos of the actress at the 2024 Louis Vuitton Paris show.
In the video, de Armas wore a sheer black lace dress that showed off her figure while keeping things elegant. The floral patterns and nude underlay gave the gown a “barely-there” effect that combined gothic romance with modern fashion. Louis Vuitton praised her at the time for perfectly embodying the spirit of their Spring/Summer collection.
Even years later, the look reminds fans why de Armas has become such a fashion icon. I think I’ve always been someone who is drawn to the discipline that this profession requires, she said recently. You have to be willing to push limits, whether that’s in the roles you take or how you present yourself to the world.

Right now, the 37-year-old actress is focused on her next big project, the psychological thriller Sweat. The film is an English-language remake of a Polish hit and stars de Armas as Emma Kent, a fitness influencer whose carefully curated online life spirals out of control after a dangerous encounter with a rival and an obsessed fan. Production is set to begin in Los Angeles soon.
This comes after her recent action-packed roles. She starred in From the World of John Wick: Ballerina as Eve Macarro, a vengeful assassin. The film reunited her with Keanu Reeves and the late Lance Reddick and reinforced her status as a lead in major franchises.
She also appeared in Ron Howard’s historical thriller Eden, playing a European settler on a remote island in the 1930s alongside Jude Law, Sydney Sweeney, and Vanessa Kirby. Critics praised her performance for its intensity and realism.
Looking ahead, de Armas is set to work with Tom Cruise again in the deep-sea thriller Deeper. She teased that the role required crazy training and intense stunt work. She is also in talks to star in a new drama called Reenactment with Benicio del Toro and Cameron Diaz.
Even with a busy schedule, de Armas remains focused on challenging roles that push her skills. My life and career have been a big improvisation, she said. I think that’s why I’m always looking for the next thing that will challenge me.
From red-carpet fashion moments like Louis Vuitton to intense thriller performances, Ana de Armas continues to show her versatility and drive. Fans are eagerly watching as she steps into new projects and expands her influence in both film and style.
