Andrew Garfield has directly responded to new fan theories suggesting he is secretly appearing in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and he is not holding back his opinion on the speculation.

The rumors started after Marvel released the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Fans quickly began analyzing one specific shot at the end of the trailer. Some viewers believe the scene may have been digitally altered to hide additional characters, similar to what Marvel previously did with Spider-Man: No Way Home before its release.

In that earlier film, surprise appearances by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire were kept secret until the movie came out. Because of that, fans now think Marvel might be repeating the same trick.

Garfield was asked about the new theories during an interview with Capital FM, where he watched the trailer moment in question and reacted strongly.

He said, “This feels like a reach to be honest, what do you mean there’s room for more characters? It’s literally just space underneath Spider-Man. They’re all headed to Spider-Man. There’s room for more characters in every frame of the film, probably.”

He continued, “This is insane. This is absolutely ludicrous conspiracy theory level attempts at investigative journalism. You’ve lost your damn minds.”

Garfield then added with a hint of humor, “You notice that I didn’t say I wasn’t in it though, right?”

The moment fans are focused on shows Spider-Man swinging toward a group of ninjas. Some viewers think parts of the scene look edited, suggesting hidden characters might have been removed or covered up.

Online theories have gone even further, with speculation about possible surprise appearances from other Marvel characters. Some fans have mentioned names like Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo, and a mysterious role connected to Sadie Sink, though none of this has been confirmed.

Garfield is not the only actor addressing the rumors. Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil, was also asked about the same trailer. He said, “I’m not in it. I don’t know what you’re talking about, but I’m not there. Unless they put me in after the fact using computer generated images, I’m not there.”

Despite all the speculation, nothing has been confirmed by Marvel or the film’s production team. The studio has stayed silent on whether any hidden characters are involved in the movie.

For now, fans will have to wait until the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31 to find out what is real and what is just internet theories.

Marvel knows how to keep people guessing, and this is exactly why these theories spread so fast. Sometimes fans read too much into small details, but Marvel also has a history of hiding surprises. It makes the hype stronger, but it also creates a lot of noise. What do you think is going on in that trailer scene?
