Andrew Garfield recently addressed one of the most popular questions among Spider-Man fans: who would win in a fight between his Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire’s, or Tom Holland’s. His answer was simple and friendly: “We wouldn’t fight… We’re friends.”

Garfield also talked about the possibility of returning to the Spider-Man franchise.

In a new interview with GQ, a fan asked if he or Tobey Maguire would appear in Marvel’s upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. Garfield was very clear: “No, unequivocally f**** no.”

The actor first played Peter Parker in 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man, but his run ended abruptly when The Amazing Spider-Man 2 underperformed at the box office.

Garfield told Esquire last year that he felt “left dangling” after his first Spider-Man stint. Returning for Spider-Man: No Way Home felt like a homecoming for him.

Reflecting on No Way Home, Garfield admitted he had doubts about Maguire joining the project. “I thought Tobey is not going to want to do that. He’ll act every 10 years much to my chagrin, and I’ve shared that to him,” he said.

“When I heard that he was kind of leaning in I thought it was either going to be the greatest thing in the world or the worst thing in the world. I am so grateful because it was the most joyful thing ever. All the pressure was on Tom.”

Garfield also expressed his love for the character and willingness to return if the story was right.

“I would 100% come back [as Spider-Man] if it was the right thing, if it’s additive to the culture, if there’s a great concept or something that hasn’t been done before that’s unique and odd and exciting that you can sink your teeth into. I love that character, and it brings joy. If part of what I bring is joy, then I’m joyful in return.”

Currently, Tom Holland is working on Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and rumors have floated about Garfield appearing in the film. Earlier this year, Garfield addressed those rumors, saying: “I’m gonna disappoint you. Yeah, no. But I know no one’s gonna trust anything I say from now on.”
