Angelina Jolie Prepares to Sell $25M Villa and Leave Hollywood Amid Brad Pitt Drama
Angelina Jolie appears to be preparing for a major change in her life as she looks beyond Los Angeles and Hollywood.
According to PEOPLE, the actress is moving forward with plans to sell her longtime Los Angeles home.
An insider told the outlet that the property has already gone through renovations and is now being shown to buyers who are financially approved. This signals that the decision is no longer just an idea but an active step toward leaving.
PEOPLE first reported in August 2025 that Jolie was planning to list the house while considering a move outside the United States. At the time, a source said she was thinking seriously about starting a new chapter abroad. That plan now seems closer to reality.
A source close to Jolie says that she wants a different kind of life. “She’s ready for a life that isn’t centered in Los Angeles,” the insider said. The source added that Jolie feels positive and motivated right now. “There are a lot of projects she’s excited about and she’s feeling good,” the source explained. “She’s looking forward to 2026 and the flexibility she’ll have then.”
Jolie shares six children with her former husband Brad Pitt: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne. She and Pitt finalized their divorce on December 30, 2024, ending a legal fight that lasted eight years.
Sources have said that Jolie stayed in Los Angeles longer than she wanted because of custody arrangements. One insider previously told PEOPLE that she never planned to live in L.A. full time but felt she had no real option at the time.
The same source said Jolie plans to move once her youngest children reach adulthood. “She plans to relocate as soon as Knox and Viv turn 18 next year,” the source said. “She’s eyeing several locations abroad. She’ll be very happy when she’s able to leave Los Angeles.” The twins will turn 18 on July 12, 2026.
Jolie has also spoken publicly about her children wanting privacy. In a 2024 interview with Good Morning America, she said, “None of my children want to be in front of the camera [at] this time. They’re quite private.” She later added, “Shiloh’s extremely private,” before explaining that her children did not grow up with much personal space. “They weren’t born with privacy, right? So, I hope that they can have that as they grow old. So we’ll see.”
Selling her home appears to be more than a real estate decision. For Jolie, it looks like a step toward a quieter life and more freedom after years of legal stress and public attention.
