Angelina Jolie Shines in First Trailer for Alice Winocour’s ‘Couture’ Alongside Louis Garrel and Vincent Lindon
The first trailer for Alice Winocour’s new film Couture has been released, giving viewers an early look at the drama led by Angelina Jolie. The movie is written and directed by Winocour and also stars Louis Garrel, Ella Rumpf, Garance Marillier, Anyier Anei, and Finnegan Oldfield.
Couture follows an American filmmaker named Maxine Walker, played by Jolie, who arrives in Paris during Fashion Week. The story focuses on her personal journey as she moves through the city and into the fashion world. Instead of glamorizing designers and luxury, the film looks closely at the people who actually do the work behind the scenes.

According to production details previously shared, Couture made history by becoming the first fictional film allowed to shoot inside Chanel’s Paris showroom and atelier. Winocour was given rare access to fashion shows and the daily work inside the atelier, including time spent with seamstresses and staff.
She has said she wanted to show fashion from a female and working-class point of view, rather than the usual focus on famous creative directors.
The film was originally announced in late 2024 under the title Stitches. Angelina Jolie and the rest of the cast were confirmed at that time, and filming began in Paris soon after. The project was officially renamed Couture in early 2025.
Couture had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, where it screened in the Special Presentations section. It later played at several major festivals, including San Sebastián, Rome, and QCinema, where it opened the event. Early reactions have been strong.
Writing for Deadline, critic Pete Hammond described the film as “an engrossing study of the humanity and vulnerability of those the rest of us just might see doing their job,” and praised Jolie’s performance as one of the best of her career.
