Anne Hathaway, 43, Wows Fans with Stunning 2015 Throwback Look
Anne Hathaway has once again reminded fans why she’s one of Hollywood’s most versatile stars. The 43-year-old actress recently shared a series of throwback photos from 2015 on Instagram, giving followers a peek behind the scenes of her life and work over a decade ago.
The pictures were taken during the filming of the 2016 movie Colossal, a quirky mix of sci-fi, comedy, and drama directed by Nacho Vigalondo. Fans were quick to gush over her seemingly unchanged appearance and radiant energy.
Hathaway was pregnant with her first child at the time, and she recalled the shoot fondly. In 2015 while pregnant with our first baby, Adam and I went with our pups to Vancouver to make @nacho_vigalondo’s wonderfully insane kaiju movie Colossal co-starring a brilliant and pre-Ted Lasso Jason Sudeikis, she shared. The actress noted that the production was a fun and memorable experience. We all had a blast- the awesome @nina was even there for Halloween- and it is both one of my favorite movies I have ever been in and one of the best times I have ever had on set.
Colossal, which combines a story about a woman struggling with personal issues and the chaos caused by a giant monster, has long been considered one of Hathaway’s more experimental projects. Despite positive reviews, the film didn’t reach a wide audience when it first released in theaters in 2017.
Hathaway joked about its original performance, saying, When it arrived in theatres in 2017, it shattered box office records and became the shining hope of all low-budget indies that if you stick to your guns, you can make it big and transcend it all. Jk, no one saw it.
The film recently found new life on Netflix, and Hathaway encouraged viewers to give it another look. BUT it just landed on Netflix!! So if you have the inclination, maybe 2026 is finally Colossal’s year, she wrote. She praised the movie’s mix of humor and clever storytelling, adding, It’s funny and strange and silly/smart and great (just my opinion… and 82% of critics on RT so…) Hope you give it a go! Stay weird!
Since those days in Vancouver, Hathaway has continued to take on a wide range of projects. In 2026, she is set to star in the A24 psychological thriller Mother Mary as a pop superstar alongside Michaela Coel. She will also reunite with director Christopher Nolan for his adaptation of The Odyssey, joining a star-studded cast that includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, and Zendaya.
Fans of her earlier work will be excited to know she is returning for The Devil Wears Prada 2 and The Princess Diaries 3. Additionally, she will lead in the romantic drama Verity and the sci-fi thriller Flowervale Street with Ewan McGregor.
Hathaway’s ability to look back at projects like Colossal with pride shows a performer who values creativity and fun just as much as awards and box office numbers. The movie’s arrival on streaming platforms allows a new audience to see a different side of the actress—one that embraces strange, bold stories. As she prepares for a big 2026 filled with sequels, thrillers, and epics, Hathaway proves she continues to be a powerhouse in Hollywood.
