Another Rumor Claims Feige Is Worried About the Russo Brothers’ Recent Flop
The Russo brothers‘ names will forever remain written in the history of the MCU because of their work on Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, two of the franchise’s most successful outings to date. In fact, their whole careers up to this point have been marked by these two movies.
And while the Avengers success helped the brothers in their subsequent work, their most recent outing, the Netflix-produced movie The Electric State ended up being a flop, and it seems that Marvel and Kevin Feige are, indeed, worried about that fact.
As you know, the Russo brothers are currently working on both Secret Wars and Doomsday, the upcoming Avengers movies. And while this was initially welcomed by the fans, Marvel’s decision to rehire them is now in the spotlight as there are, seemingly, concerns over the choice due to the failure of their most recent movie.
Namely, not that long ago, a popular rumor mill claimed that Marvel and Feige are worried about the choice. And while the source claimed that Marvel was potentially looking to replace them, their mixed reputation led to many fans labeling the rumor as false and discarding it.
Now, DanielRPK is, actually, claiming the same thing, but there is a difference. Richtman says Marvel won’t be replacing them at this point – it is too late and would be a PR disaster – but Kevin Feige will be personally overseeing both projects (the scripts, the direction, etc.), as Marvel intends to have a more hands-on approach than before.
The goal is a successful pair of movies, so, regardless of the interpersonal relationships at play, such an approach should still come as a reassuring fact to the fans, as it implies that Marvel is, indeed, trying to give us the best possible movies.
