Anya Taylor-Joy has once again captured attention with her fashion choices while promoting The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The actress, who voices Princess Peach, appeared at a Tokyo press event on March 27, wearing a striking outfit from the Givenchy Fall 2026 Ready-to-Wear collection.

She wore a black mini dress with a structured corset-style bodice and a massive bow at the back. The bow was decorated with colorful floral patterns, which many fans compared to a spring garden or koi pond in Japan. Matching thigh-high boots continued the floral motif, creating a bold, coordinated look from head to toe.

Taylor-Joy kept her platinum blonde hair straight and parted in the middle, and she chose a dark, bold lip to contrast the playful floral details of the outfit. Her makeup remained simple, letting the dramatic dress take center stage.

The actress has been a rising fashion and film icon since her breakout role in The Queen’s Gambit. In addition to her work on the new Mario movie, she will star in the Apple TV+ series Lucky, which premieres in July, and reprise her role as Alia Atreides in Dune: Part Three this December.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie continues the story from the 2023 film, with Chris Pratt returning as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, and Jack Black as Bowser. New cast members include Brie Larson as Princess Rosalina, Donald Glover as Yoshi, and Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr. The film is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic and will be released worldwide on April 1.

Taylor-Joy has embraced “method dressing” during the press tour, aligning her outfits with the whimsical, celestial themes of the Mario Galaxy universe. Her style choices, including the recent Givenchy ensemble, have helped keep the movie in the spotlight, blending Hollywood glamour with playful nods to gaming culture.

Anya Taylor-Joy’s Tokyo look is a perfect example of how fashion can be theatrical and fun without losing elegance. The oversized bow and floral details are bold and memorable, yet she still keeps the focus on herself and the character she represents.
