Apple Martin made a stylish statement at the recent premiere of Marty Supreme in New York by wearing a dress once worn by her mother, Gwyneth Paltrow. The 21-year-old coordinated with her mom for the event, drawing attention from fans and fashion media alike.

Martin wore a fitted black gown from the Calvin Klein collection, taken from Paltrow’s personal wardrobe. The dress was the same one Paltrow had worn nearly 30 years ago at the 1996 premiere of Emma. Paltrow herself wore a minimalist black Valentino Haute Couture gown. Both mother and daughter kept their look simple, with minimal jewelry and soft, undone hairstyles.

On her Instagram story, Martin shared a photo of the coordinated look, which Vogue highlighted as a nod to Paltrow’s extensive fashion archive. Paltrow’s son, Moses Martin, 19, also attended, dressed in a gray suit jacket over a light blue shirt and white pants, completing the outfit with a striped tie and Dior shoes.

Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie, stars Paltrow as retired actress Kay Stone. Timothée Chalamet plays Marty Mauser, a young man chasing a career in table tennis. The film is set to release in theaters on December 25.

This isn’t the first time Apple Martin has borrowed from her mom’s iconic red carpet looks. In 2023, Paltrow shared a photo of her daughter wearing her 2002 Alexander McQueen Oscars gown, a gothic-inspired look with a sheer black top and a long black train. Paltrow shared the photo in response to a fan asking if her daughter ever wore outfits from her personal collection.

It’s fun to see Apple drawing from her mom’s fashion archive. It’s a stylish way to honor Paltrow’s legacy while creating her own red carpet moments. What do you think about children wearing their parents’ iconic outfits? Share your thoughts in the comments.
