Ariana Grande’s SNL Skit Targets RFK Jr. and His Vaccine Views
Ariana Grande took aim at Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during her hosting stint on Saturday Night Live on December 20. The pop star, 32, appeared in several sketches with Bowen Yang and the SNL cast, but one moment in particular caught viewers’ attention.
In a comedy sketch, Grande played a quirky dance teacher alongside cast member Marcello Hernández. Their characters taught a class of hesitant students using odd and exaggerated dance moves. The duo explained that dance could express anything because “dance was a universal language.”
The political joke came when Grande’s character revealed she “was not vaccinated.” When pressed further, she responded, “Excuse me you can’t actually ask me that in RFK’s America.” According to Mirror US, she visibly broke character after delivering the line, laughing at her own joke.
Fans quickly reacted on social media. One user wrote, “LOL at Ariana Grande breaking character on SNL after saying she’s ‘not vaccinated in RFK’s America.’” Another added, “Ariana breaking character after her joke about RFK #SNL.”
Others suggested the line might become a memorable moment of the season, with one comment reading, “I fear that ‘I’m not vaccinated’ is going to be a season 51 classic. As is that RFK Jr. line.”
The joke struck a chord because RFK Jr., as the current Secretary of Health and Human Services, has been a vocal critic of vaccines. Since taking office, he has rolled back several federal immunization policies and appointed vaccine skeptics to key health positions. Earlier this month, he held a briefing with the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, a CDC group he personally selected, which voted to reverse the recommendation that all newborns should receive a hepatitis B vaccine.
