Armie Hammer Breaks Silence On His Texts That Stated “I am 100% a cannibal”

Armie Hammer recently spoke out about the text messages where he said, “I am 100% a cannibal.” In an interview on the Louis Theroux podcast, he claimed the messages were misunderstood.

He said only his side of the conversation was shown, making it look like he was talking to himself. “The person who released them cut out their side of the chat,” Hammer explained. He suggested it might have been a playful exchange, saying, “It could have been two people joking and pushing each other.”

Hammer denied being a cannibal. “You have to eat human flesh to be a cannibal. I didn’t do that,” he said. He admitted to being reckless in his relationships, calling himself “selfish” and “an asshole.” He added, “I used people to feel better. They were like my drugs.” But he insisted his actions weren’t illegal. “It makes me a jerk, sure. Not a criminal,” he said.

The scandal hit his career hard. After the allegations came out in 2021, Hollywood dropped him. He was never charged with a crime, but the damage was done. Now, he thinks things are turning around. On the Your Mom’s House podcast, he said, “People in the industry are starting to say, ‘That guy got screwed.’ It feels good.”

Hammer also talked about working in Hollywood again. When asked if he’d work with Woody Allen, a director accused of child sex abuse, he didn’t say no. “If I refuse, it’s like I’m supporting cancel culture,” he said.

What do you think? Should he get another shot in Hollywood? He’s owning up to being a jerk but not a criminal. The lack of charges backs that up. Still, the texts were weird, and his past behavior raises questions. It’s hard to say if he deserves a full comeback. Share your thoughts in the comments below.
