The mutant side of ‘Avengers Doomsday’ has mostly stayed in the shadows compared to everything Marvel has revealed about Doctor Doom. Fans have gotten trailer glimpses and vague hints, but the actual on-screen looks for Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr have largely stayed a mystery.

That mystery has only deepened the intrigue, especially since Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen are stepping back into these roles decades after originating them in the early X-Men films. A recent teaser even showed the two old friends sharing a quiet chess game, a scene that hinted at a more grounded, emotional angle for characters usually defined by conflict.

Now, a fresh batch of collectible figures has pulled back the curtain, and the reveal centers on a version of Magneto fans have been waiting years to see on screen. New Iron Studios figures showing Doctor Doom, Professor Xavier, and Magneto have surfaced, giving the clearest look yet at how these characters will actually appear in the film.

The Magneto figure shows Erik in a bold red super suit complete with his signature helmet, caught mid levitation above a broken pillar with his arm outstretched. It is a striking departure from the muted black and gray looks the character wore throughout the original X-Men trilogy, and it leans much closer to his classic comic book design.

Professor X gets a very different treatment in his own figure, seated amid rubble and a shattered stained glass window while actively using his powers. That imagery lines up with the tone of the previously released teaser, in which Xavier warns that death comes for everyone and that the real question is who someone chooses to be before the end.

Doctor Doom rounds out this particular wave of merchandise, continuing Marvel’s marketing strategy of keeping Robert Downey Jr.’s villain at the center of nearly every reveal tied to the film. Collider was given an exclusive advance look at all three figures ahead of their public release, offering fans the first detailed glimpse at how the X-Men side of the story is shaping up.

The costume choice for Magneto in particular fits a larger pattern Marvel has been leaning into across the film’s merchandising rollout. Earlier looks at crew apparel and other collectibles already hinted that Magneto and several other X-Men characters would be getting more comic accurate redesigns for ‘Doomsday,’ trading the muted tones of the earlier movie trilogy for bolder, more instantly recognizable costumes.

That approach extends across the wider X-Men roster joining the film, which includes James Marsden as Cyclops, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. Combined with the returning Avengers, the New Avengers lineup, and the ‘Fantastic Four’ cast led by Pedro Pascal, the sheer scale of this ensemble keeps growing with every new wave of merchandise.

For collectors, these three figures are only part of a much larger toy and collectible rollout tied to the film, spanning everything from smaller-scale statues to premium format pieces. But for fans simply trying to piece together what ‘Doomsday’ will actually look like on screen, this batch offers some of the most useful visual evidence so far.

‘Avengers Doomsday’ is set to arrive in theaters on December 18, and with the X-Men finally coming into focus, anticipation for the film’s full trailer only keeps building.
