‘Average Joe’ Season 2 First Look Revealed as Paramount+ Announces Premiere Date
Paramount+ is bringing back one of its most popular action-comedy series with a brand-new adventure. The streamer has announced that ‘Average Joe’ season 2 will premiere globally on August 19, with the upcoming eight-episode season promising bigger dangers, new enemies, and another chaotic chapter for Joe Washington.
The news comes as Paramount+ continues to build on the success of the series, which stars Emmy Award-nominated writer, actor, and comedian Deon Cole as the unlucky but determined Joe. Along with the release date announcement, the platform also shared a first look at the new season, giving fans a glimpse at what’s ahead for the fan-favorite characters.
Season 2 picks up after the dramatic events of the first season, with Joe attempting to move forward after everything he and his friends have been through. However, his plans for a quieter life quickly fall apart when a mysterious threat puts his family in danger.
According to Paramount+, the new episodes will take Joe, Leon, Cathy, and Touch far away from home as they travel to Cape Town, South Africa, searching for answers. What begins as a personal mission soon turns into a dangerous international chase involving criminals, assassins, and secrets connected to Joe’s past.
The series continues to mix action, comedy, and suspense as Joe finds himself trapped in situations that seem impossible to escape. Despite his best efforts, his life once again proves that there is nothing ordinary about being Joe Washington.
The returning cast includes Deon Cole, Malcolm Barrett, Cynthia Kaye McWilliams, and Michael Trucco. They will be joined by new season 2 additions Katlego Lebogang and Hakeem Kae-Kazim, who will bring new challenges and threats into Joe’s world.
Lebogang will play Imani, a character whose connection to Joe’s family forces him to question what he knows about his own history. Meanwhile, Kae-Kazim will portray Sipho, a powerful Cape Town crime boss whose pursuit of Joe and his friends creates even more trouble for the group.
The first season of ‘Average Joe’ introduced viewers to Joe Washington, a regular man who suddenly finds himself caught in a dangerous situation involving criminals and hidden secrets.
