Livvy Dunne’s career has never followed a straight line. She began gymnastics training in 2005, made her elite debut in 2014 and joined the LSU Tigers in 2020. Along the way she became one of the most recognizable names in college sports.

Her biggest team moment came in 2024, when LSU won its first NCAA women’s gymnastics title. She announced her retirement from the sport on April 17, 2025, closing a chapter that also made her a pioneer in the name, image and likeness era. She was long considered the highest-earning female college athlete, thanks to NIL deals with brands that included Vuori, American Eagle, BodyArmor and Nautica.

That brings us to Oct. 1, the day Dunne celebrates her birthday. She was born on Oct. 1, 2002, in Westwood, New Jersey, which means she turns 24 today.

The date lands at an interesting moment. Dunne is no longer defined by the gymnastics floor, and her career has branched into several directions at once. She is a model, a social media personality and, increasingly, an actress.

On the acting front, Dunne has said she has been taking acting lessons and going on auditions, playing someone other than herself for the first time. She is now part of the cast of Fox’s ‘Baywatch’ series, according to her Wikipedia profile. Her castmates include Jessica Belkin, Noah Beck, THADDBOII and Stephen Amell, with whom she has posed in promotional posts.

Modeling remains a major part of her brand as well. Dunne extended her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit streak into 2026 with her fourth consecutive feature, shot in Loreto, Mexico. She also continues to work with brands, including an expanded Miller Lite partnership tied to the LSU football season and promotions for Accelerator Active Energy.

Her business instincts go beyond endorsements. In July 2023, she launched The Livvy Fund in partnership with LSU’s official NIL collective to create more opportunities for LSU’s female student-athletes. ESPN noted that Dunne became a blueprint for others navigating NIL, which gave her influence well beyond her own deals.

The past few weeks have kept her in the spotlight. She attended LSU’s game against Ole Miss on Sept. 19, though the Tigers lost 32-24. She also reacted to her castmate Jessica Belkin’s red carpet look at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sept. 14.

Off the field, she has been cheering on her boyfriend, Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes. After Skenes made his final start of the 2026 season, Dunne posted a recap of the campaign and fired back at a critic who told Skenes to lock in, pointing out that he finished with exactly 200 strikeouts. She later shared that the off-season had officially begun, after the Pirates were eliminated from playoff contention.

That season has been bumpy by Skenes’s standards, following his NL Cy Young-winning showing in 2025. Dunne’s public support has become a regular part of the couple’s story. The two first crossed paths at LSU, where she was a gymnast and he pitched for the baseball team.

With a new year of life starting, the question is how far Dunne can take her post-gymnastics career. Acting looks like the most promising lane, especially with the ‘Baywatch’ reboot on the way. Her social media reach, which Wikipedia lists at over 10 million followers, gives her a built-in audience for whatever she tries next.

If her track record is any guide, she will keep mixing business, entertainment and advocacy. The foundation she built at LSU, from a national title to her NIL work, remains the base of that brand. Fans wishing her a happy birthday today are also watching to see what role she takes on next.
