Beloved TikTok Star Dies “Peacefully” at 41
Beloved TikTok comedian Steve Bridges has passed away at the age of 41. The news was shared by his wife, Chelsey Bridges, in a video posted to his Instagram account on October 17. She told followers that Steve died peacefully in his sleep on October 15.
Chelsey, holding back tears in the video, said she wanted to share the news herself before it became known elsewhere. “I’m really sorry to get on and tell you this, this way,” she said. “I think if I wait any longer, I’m not going to be able to do it.”
The couple had been married for 16 years and shared three children together. Chelsey spoke warmly about her husband, describing him as a loving father and husband who was nothing like the characters he played online.
“Who you saw online was just the characters that he created,” she explained. “He was so talented because he was the opposite of all of them. He was the most attentive father, and the best, the best husband. And the greatest, sweetest man.”
Steve Bridges became well known for his funny POV-style videos on TikTok and Instagram, where he acted out everyday situations that many people could relate to.
His lighthearted humor and realistic portrayals of common scenarios earned him over two million followers across both platforms. Chelsey often appeared in his videos, playing characters alongside him.
In her message, Chelsey also thanked fans for helping Steve live out his dream. “Thanks to you internet, he’s been able to live his dream of making people laugh. I am so thankful that he got to do that,” she said.
She also took a moment to remind viewers to be kind, especially since her children are online. “I’m not going to tell my children that they can’t grieve online,” she said.
“I will probably grieve online too. This is life now. Please never take it for granted and try to live your dreams every day. Love your family and take care of yourself.”
