Billie Eilish Blasts ICE as a “Terrorist Group” in Fiery Instagram Protest
Billie Eilish has taken to Instagram to sharply criticize ICE following the tragic shooting of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis. Good, a prize-winning poet, wife, and mother of three, was killed on January 7 during a large-scale immigration enforcement operation. She had been volunteering with local “neighborhood patrols” that monitored ICE activities in the city when an ICE agent shot her in her car. The incident has sparked protests across the United States.
On January 9, Eilish shared a series of posts on her Instagram account condemning the agency. In one graphic, she called ICE a “federally funded and supported terrorist group,” quoting the original creator who described the organization’s actions as “tearing apart families, terrorising citizens, and now murdering innocent people.”

In a second post, Eilish reshared a call to “abolish ICE” and highlighted 32 people who reportedly died in ICE custody last year. Her third post urged Americans to contact their representatives in Congress, demand that ICE be defunded, and ensure that the agent responsible for Good’s death is arrested and charged immediately.
Eilish has a history of speaking out on political and social issues. She has previously criticized President Donald Trump’s policies and has been an outspoken advocate for gun control in the United States.
After the Brown University shooting in December, she spoke up about stricter laws. She also joined other artists in a 2023 video campaign called Artist For Action To Prevent Gun Violence, and in 2019, she urged fans to push for stronger gun control following mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio.
Musician Neil Young also reacted to the shooting, encouraging Americans to “rise up” against ICE.
Following the controversy, ICE has reportedly stopped running advertisements on Spotify.
