Billie Eilish is once again using her fame to push others to speak out. This time, she is calling out celebrities who have stayed quiet after another deadly incident involving ICE in Minnesota.

The pop star has a long history of talking about social and political issues. She has spoken openly about wealth inequality, Palestine, climate justice, and government power. Over the past year, her focus has turned strongly toward ICE and its actions in the United States.

Earlier in 2026, Billie was honored by the King Center with the MLK Jr. Beloved Community Environmental Justice Award. During her acceptance speech, she described a country in crisis. Without naming ICE directly, she talked about people being taken from their communities and peaceful protesters facing violence.

Her words were linked to the killing of Renee Good in Minneapolis, a case that had already caused anger after videos and eyewitness reports spread online through local news and social media.

That anger grew even stronger after another death. Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old nurse who worked with veterans, was shot and killed during a protest in Minnesota by ICE agents. Witness videos shared online appeared to conflict with statements released by the Trump administration. These clips, posted by people who were present, quickly went viral and sparked widespread outrage.

Soon after Pretti’s death, Billie turned to Instagram. According to her Instagram Story posts, she shared a video honoring Pretti and calling him a real American hero. She also reposted a message criticizing people who avoid political discussions. The post read, “I don’t do politics” Ok, well you’re a fully grown adult so maybe it’s time to start.

Billie then made her message even clearer. She posted a selfie and added a short caption aimed directly at other famous figures. She wrote, Hey my fellow celebrities u gonna speak up? Or… The short message spread quickly across social platforms, with many fans praising her for putting pressure on Hollywood.

Billie Eilish continues to be one of the biggest names in music. Her most recent album performed extremely well, and in 2025 she pledged $11.5 million to climate justice causes. Information shared by her team and the King Center shows how her public role has grown beyond music alone.

The deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti have become rallying points in Minnesota, where tensions between federal enforcement and local communities continue to rise. As more public figures speak out at major events, the pressure is growing on others in the spotlight to respond.

When people with massive platforms stay silent during moments like this, it sends a message. Billie Eilish and others are using their voices because they believe silence helps nothing. Whether people agree with them or not, the conversation is clearly shifting, and more celebrities are being forced to choose a side.

What do you think about celebrities speaking out on issues like this? Do you believe silence is acceptable, or should public figures use their platforms? Share your thoughts in the comments.
