Billie Eilish Teams Up with James Cameron for Concert Film Coming to Theaters
Billie Eilish is bringing her live tour experience to the big screen. The singer announced on Sunday that her new concert documentary, made with director James Cameron, will hit theaters on March 20, 2026, via Paramount. The film, titled HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR (LIVE IN 3D), will be presented in 3D and was produced in collaboration with Darkroom Records, Interscope Films, and Lightstorm Entertainment.
Eilish shared her excitement on Instagram, writing, “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR (LIVE IN 3D) coming to theatres on march 20th 2026 !!!! 🥳🥳🥳 this has been one of my favorite tours everrrrrr and being able to capture it and co-direct this film with @jamescameronofficial has truly been a dream come true. can’t wait for you all to see it :’)🎥⭐️🤭💙.”
The project was first teased during Eilish’s summer concerts in Manchester, England. Speaking to the crowd, she revealed that the performances were being filmed in 3D with Cameron, though she didn’t share many other details at the time. “So you may have noticed that there are more cameras than usual in here. Basically, I can’t say much about it, but what I can say is that I’m working on something very, very special with somebody named James Cameron, and it’s going to be in 3D. So, take that as you will,” she said.
Eilish has previous experience with documentaries, having starred in Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry, directed by R.J. Cutler, and her concert film Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles. The new documentary captures her final performances on the Hit Me Hard and Soft tour, which concluded on Sunday night in San Francisco.
This 3D concert film marks another major step for Eilish, combining her live performance energy with the vision of an Oscar-winning director. Fans can expect an immersive experience that brings the excitement of her tour directly to movie theaters.
