Billy Bob Thornton Finally Reveals the Real Reason Behind His Split from Angelina Jolie

Billy Bob Thornton has opened up about his past marriage to Angelina Jolie and explained why it didn’t work out. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the 70-year-old actor looked back on his long history of marriages and talked honestly about how his life has changed.

Thornton said he has been married six times, but things are different now with his wife Connie Angland, whom he has been with for more than twenty years.

They married in 2014 and share a daughter named Bella. He also has three other children from earlier relationships. He joked about how some of his past marriages happened too quickly, saying in the interview that sometimes it was just a moment of bad judgment after a night out.

According to him, “the other times I got married were just like, you had a little too much to drink one night and somebody said, ‘We should get married.’ You go, ‘Yeah, okay.’ I always tell people, at least I was trying.”

When he talked about his relationship with Angelina Jolie, whom he was married to from 2000 to 2003, he described that time with a lot of warmth. He said, “That was one of the greatest times of my life.”

He added that they are still close friends today and explained that their split didn’t happen because of anger or drama. According to him, “We simply split up because our lifestyles were so different.” He also said it was the most peaceful breakup he ever had.

Thornton remembered how strange the public attention was during their relationship. He said that when they first met, he was the more famous one, but that changed quickly. He explained that the media loved talking about their marriage and that it made normal life hard. “So it was weird. We couldn’t go anywhere,” he said, adding that anything they said could easily become a headline.

Before her marriage to Thornton, Jolie had been married to Jonny Lee Miller. After Thornton, she later married Brad Pitt, with whom she shares six children.
