A newly unsealed court deposition has brought fresh drama to the ongoing legal fight between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, revealing a heated behind-the-scenes moment involving a top Sony Pictures executive.

According to deposition testimony made public on Tuesday, Sony executive vice president of production Andrea Giannetti admitted that she once referred to Lively as a “f**** terrorist” during the troubled production of the 2024 film It Ends With Us. The statement came out during Giannetti’s sworn testimony from September 2025, which is now part of the court record in Lively’s lawsuit.

The comment was made during a private conversation with Wayfarer Studios CEO Jamey Heath at a time when tensions on set were extremely high. When asked directly if she used the phrase, Giannetti answered simply, “Yes.” She explained that the remark came after she was told that Lively had threatened to quit the movie unless the studio immediately agreed to a detailed list of demands.

Giannetti told the court that Sony had already invested heavily in the film and could not afford for the production to fall apart. She said the studio had spent “a tremendous amount of money” and felt it “had to finish … or it was unreleasable.” That pressure, she said, played a major role in her emotional reaction.

Lively’s demands centered on how sensitive scenes would be handled. According to the deposition, she insisted there be no improvised intimate scenes and no conversations about p****** or s***** experiences. She also requested that no one comment on her body, weight, or personal life, and that discussions involving genitalia be completely banned from set.

Justin Baldoni and Jamey Heath ultimately agreed to all of the conditions so the film could continue. However, Lively later claimed that this moment marked a turning point. In her lawsuit, filed in December 2024, she alleges that after the agreement was reached, Baldoni and the Wayfarer Studios team retaliated against her by launching a smear campaign meant to damage her reputation.

Despite the anger revealed in the deposition, Giannetti sent Lively a very positive text message after the film’s opening weekend success. The message read, “Blake, $50 million!! Your blood, sweat, tears, brilliant smarts, heart and soul in every single frame. My God, it’s incredible. Thank you 50 million times. And it’s only Saturday night.” In court, Giannetti said the praise was about the movie’s massive box office numbers, not Lively’s behavior during production.

Giannetti also testified that she did not remember Lively clearly stating that Baldoni or Heath had done anything specific to make her uncomfortable before she threatened to leave the project. Baldoni has denied all claims of s**** harassment and retaliation. In November 2025, he asked the judge to dismiss the lawsuit, calling the accusations unfounded.

The judge is expected to rule this week on whether the case will move forward or be thrown out. If it proceeds, the trial is currently scheduled for May 2026.

It Ends With Us was released in August 2024 and went on to earn more than $300 million worldwide. The film is based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel and deals with themes of domestic violence and emotional abuse, which several people involved have said made the production emotionally intense.

Lively, best known for Gossip Girl and films like The Age of Adaline and A Simple Favor, has also stepped behind the camera in recent years. Baldoni, who rose to fame on Jane the Virgin, now focuses largely on directing and producing through Wayfarer Studios.

Public rumors of tension between the two stars first surfaced during the film’s press tour, when they appeared separately and avoided joint interviews. Those rumors have only grown louder as more court documents are unsealed.

All of the new details come directly from unsealed deposition testimony and court filings tied to the lawsuit. If the case goes to trial, it is expected to draw intense public attention and could have lasting effects on how studios handle on-set conflicts involving major stars.
