The new trailer for the second half of season four of Bridgerton makes one thing clear. The love story between Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek is about to get much more complicated.

The footage, released by Netflix through Tudum, picks up right after the dramatic moment that ended part one. Benedict’s shocking proposal still hangs in the air, and both characters are forced to face what it really means. The trailer shows a deeper and more serious side of Benedict, played by Luke Thompson. Talking about the shift, Thompson says, “This is maybe not the story that we would’ve expected for Benedict. It’s a very different Benedict that we see in Part 2.”

Sophie, played by Yerin Ha, is shown struggling with trust and fear. Her past has taught her not to believe promises made by powerful men. Ha explains Sophie’s mindset clearly, saying, “She doesn’t trust anyone who says, ‘I promise this for you,’ because that has never been true for Sophie.” The trailer makes it clear that walking away may feel safer, but staying away from Benedict is almost impossible for her.

The stakes are high on both sides. Sophie risks her heart and her fragile place in the world. Benedict risks his name, his family, and his position in society. The show hints that choosing love could mean losing everything else. Even Violet Bridgerton warns that there may be no way back if Benedict follows his heart.

Despite all this pressure, the trailer is filled with moments of quiet longing and intense connection. The bond between Sophie and Benedict only grows stronger, even as the risks become clearer. Passion, doubt, and restraint all clash as they try to decide if love is worth the cost.

The story does not focus only on them. Anthony Bridgerton returns home with Kate, now married and parents to a baby, just in time to give Benedict some firm advice. Sophie finds support from a footman who urges her to let go of her fears and take a chance. Other familiar faces across the ton are also shown facing their own crossroads.

Violet Bridgerton begins to question what she wants for herself after years of living for her children. Showrunner Jess Brownell explains, “She’s spent so much of her life being the emotional anchor for her family. This is her finally allowing herself to ask what she wants.” Meanwhile, Lady Danbury, Queen Charlotte, Francesca, and Penelope all appear as their stories continue to unfold in the background.

The final four episodes of Bridgerton season four arrive on February 26 on Netflix. The trailer promises romance, risk, and hard choices that could change everything.
