Brie Larson to Voice This Character in Upcoming ‘Super Mario Galaxy’ Movie
Nintendo has released the first full trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, giving fans their first look at the sequel to the 2023 hit The Super Mario Bros. Movie. The new film is inspired by the popular Super Mario Galaxy games, and the trailer introduces several new characters.
One of the highlights is the cosmic princess Rosalina, who will be voiced by Marvel star Brie Larson.
The trailer also reveals Bowser Jr. as a key antagonist, with his voice provided by Benny Safdie, co-director of Uncut Gems. Fans had been hoping to see Yoshi after some recent leaks appeared on Pillsbury cookie packaging, but the green dinosaur has not been shown in the trailer yet.

Ahead of the movie’s release, Nintendo launched ports of the Wii classics Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 on Switch and Switch 2. This is the first time the games have been available on these consoles, though some players have noted changes to the controls in the new versions.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie still holds the record as the highest-grossing video game adaptation worldwide. The more recent Minecraft Movie comes close, but Nintendo will be hoping that the Galaxy sequel tops its own record.
