Bryan Fuller, the creator of the TV show Hannibal, has shared his dream of making a limited series based on The Silence of the Lambs.

He wants Zendaya to play Clarice Starling and Mads Mikkelsen to reprise his role as Dr. Hannibal Lecter, according to an interview with ScreenRant’s Ash Crossan at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The character of Clarice Starling, introduced in Thomas Harris’ novels, is known for her intelligence and strong screen presence.

She has been portrayed by several actors over the years, most famously Jodie Foster in the 1991 movie adaptation. Julianne Moore and Rebecca Breeds have also taken on the role in later adaptations.

During the interview, Fuller discussed his vision for the series while promoting his new horror film Dust Bunny, which stars Mads Mikkelsen. When asked about the possibility of Hannibal returning, Fuller said, “My dream project is to do a limited series of Silence of the Lambs with Mads and Zendaya as Clarice Starling. If I could put anything out into the universe, I would put that into the universe.”

Fuller’s version of the show would continue the legacy of his previous work on Hannibal, which drew heavily from Thomas Harris’ books, including Red Dragon, Hannibal, and Hannibal Rising.

Fans of the psychological horror series may be excited to see his take on these iconic characters in a new format.

Zendaya as Clarice could bring a fresh and exciting energy to the character, and seeing Mikkelsen return as Hannibal is always thrilling. What do you think about this potential series? Share your thoughts in the comments.
