Glen Powell is stepping into comedy with his new series ‘Chad Powers,’ which he co-created with Michael Waldron.

The show follows Powell as Russ Holliday, a quarterback whose career is in ruins. To try to turn things around, he disguises himself as Chad Powers, leading to many humorous situations.

The series has a talented supporting cast including Steve Zahn, Toby Huss, Perry Mattfeld, Clayne Crawford, Wynn Everett, Frankie A. Rodriguez, Colton Ryan, Keese Wilson, Xavier Mills, and Quentin Plair.

Kevin Trainor also joins as a Press Conference Moderator. Each character adds a unique energy to the story, making the comedy richer and more entertaining.

Hulu ordered the show in February 2024, and filming started in late August 2024. Natalie Holt composed the music for the series, while Patrick Tuck handled editing. The story draws inspiration from a character created by Eli Manning for ‘Eli’s Places.’

Hulu has already released the trailer, giving fans a first look at what to expect. The series is scheduled to premiere on September 30, 2025. On launch day, the first two episodes will be available immediately, with new episodes coming out weekly.

This show promises a mix of sports and comedy, with Powell leading the way in a fun and chaotic journey.

In my opinion, ‘Chad Powers’ looks like it could be one of the funniest sports comedies of the year. Glen Powell seems to have found a fresh angle on the washed-up athlete story. What do you think about the series and its premise? Share your thoughts in the comments.
