Filming for the second season of Daredevil: Born Again has wrapped, and fans are already buzzing over what’s to come. Thanks to set leaks, people have gotten glimpses of Daredevil’s black suit with the red D&D logo. At Galaxy Con, Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdock/Daredevil, talked about the suits and why this season is special.

“I know there have been some leaked set photos so the one that we’ve just finished with in season 2 of Born Again I think is my favorite for a couple of reasons. One, because it is badass, but also because every suit that we’ve had in some way is represented in the comics. We’ve had a couple of red ones, two I think three red ones, we’ve had the She-Hulk golden, you know yellow and red, but there’s a particular, there’s something I can’t say without giving away too much, but there’s something that we do in this final season that doesn’t exist in the comics so it is unique to the show,” Cox said.

Season 2 will follow Matt Murdock as he gathers allies to fight Wilson Fisk, the mayor of New York City, and his Anti-Vigilante Task Force. The show is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and connects to other Marvel films and series. Disney+ plans to release the season in March 2026, and it will have eight episodes.

Cox returns as Daredevil, and Vincent D’Onofrio is back as Wilson Fisk. Fans will also see familiar faces like Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, the Punisher. Margarita Levieva comes back as Heather Glenn, Fisk’s Mental Health Commissioner and Matt’s ex, and Wilson Bethel returns as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, a dangerous assassin with new layers this season. Krysten Ritter joins the cast as Jessica Jones, teaming up with Daredevil even though they fight crime in very different ways.

Fans are particularly curious about the new suit Cox teased. Previous leaks showed Daredevil in a black costume, but versions of this have appeared in the comics before. He has worn three black suits in the past. The first was a makeshift costume, while the second appeared during the 2010 Shadowland crossover, when Daredevil became corrupted by the demon Beast while leading the Hand. That suit was black with a red logo and eyes.

After the Beast was defeated, Daredevil returned to his classic red costume. The third black suit was a mix of the Shadowland design and his traditional red suit, keeping the Shadowland theme but adding red boots, gloves, escrima sticks, and the logo. That look stayed his main costume for years until he returned fully to the classic red outfit in 2018. Cox’s comments suggest this season will introduce a new suit that has never appeared in comics before.

Production for season 2 started on February 28, 2025, under the working title Out the Kitchen 2. Directors included Benson and Moorhead, Naim, MacDonald, and Barnes. Hillary Fyfe Spera returned as cinematographer, joined by Jeffrey Waldron, and Philip Silvera came back as stunt coordinator and second unit director. By mid-May, filming was halfway done, and production officially wrapped on July 9.
