Charlize Theron’s Life on the Line as a Savage Killer Hunts Her in Netflix’s Heart-Stopping ‘Apex’ Trailer
Netflix has dropped the first look at the upcoming action-thriller “Apex,” giving fans a thrilling taste of what’s to come. The film stars Charlize Theron as a woman who retreats to the Australian wilderness to cope with grief, only to find herself being hunted by a deadly predator played by Taron Egerton. Eric Bana also joins the cast in a supporting role.
The trailer shows Theron arriving at Wandarra National Park, where she crosses paths with Egerton at a gas station. When she notices her gear has been stolen, Egerton’s character reveals he took it, setting off a tense cat-and-mouse chase.
“Hunt or be hunted,” flashes on the screen as Theron races through forests, navigates rapids, and climbs cliffs while Egerton pursues her, crossbow in hand. The intense sequences were filmed on location in New South Wales, including the scenic Blue Mountains, adding an extra layer of realism to the action.

The film is directed by Baltasar Kormákur, known for “Everest,” and written by Jeremy Robbins. It is produced by Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and David Ready for Chernin Entertainment; Ian Bryce for Ian Bryce Productions; and Kormákur along with Theron, A.J. Dix, and Beth Kono under Theron’s Secret Menu banner. Ray Angelic, Will McCance, and Dawn Olmstead serve as executive producers.
