Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson Lead Tense New ‘Mercy’ Trailer

A new trailer for the upcoming sci-fi thriller Mercy has just dropped, giving fans their first real look at the high-stakes story starring Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson.

The film is directed by Timur Bekmambetov and written by Marco van Belle, with production handled by Bekmambetov and Charles Roven. Amazon MGM Studios is set to release the movie in the United States on January 23, 2026, in 3D and IMAX.

Mercy takes place in 2029 Los Angeles and centers on a detective who is accused of murdering his wife. He faces a ticking clock, having just 90 minutes to prove his innocence to an advanced AI judge he once helped develop.

The trailer showcases intense, futuristic courtroom scenes and high-tension action, giving a clear sense of the film’s thriller and sci-fi elements.

Alongside Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson, the film’s cast includes Kali Reis, Annabelle Wallis, Chris Sullivan, Kenneth Choi, Kylie Rogers, Rafi Gavron, Jeff Pierre, Tom Rezvan, and Ryan Hailey. The star-studded lineup promises a mix of dramatic performances and action-driven storytelling.

Production for Mercy began in April 2024 in Los Angeles, with cinematographer Khalid Mohtaseb behind the camera. During filming, Pratt suffered an ankle injury but continued with the project, which wrapped in late May. The movie was initially slated for an August 2025 release but was later pushed to January 2026.

The newly released trailer has already sparked excitement online, teasing a tense and thrilling ride for fans of sci-fi and crime stories. From futuristic technology to gripping suspense, Mercy looks to be a visually striking and emotionally charged thriller.
