‘Christmas at the Kringles’ Teaser Pits Ron Livingston Against a Chainsaw-Wielding Holiday Cult

Christmas-themed horror comedies have become something of a booming subgenre in recent years, with films like ‘Violent Night’ proving audiences have an appetite for holiday cheer mixed with genuine mayhem. That trend shows no signs of slowing down, and the latest entry looks poised to lean even further into the chaos.

‘Willy’s Wonderland’ and ‘Pig Hill’ director Kevin Lewis is behind the new project, working from a script by Zack Imbrogno. The film follows the Seversons, a family trying to start fresh in a quiet suburban neighborhood, only to find their new neighbors, the Kringles, celebrating Christmas year-round in a way that quickly shifts from charming to deeply unsettling.

Now the first teaser has arrived for ‘Christmas at the Kringles,’ and it wastes no time establishing just how far the film is willing to go. The clip introduces a crazed man wielding a chainsaw alongside a leather-clad figure among the holiday madness, confirming the film’s blend of action, horror and comedy ahead of its October 30 theatrical release.

The story follows Mark and Julie Severson as their concern grows over their son’s increasing attachment to the Kringle family next door. After a heated confrontation, Mark heads over to bring his family home, only to discover the Kringles’ true intentions: hypnotizing and indoctrinating everyone around them into their twisted version of holiday devotion.

What follows is described as a life-or-death rescue mission, with Mark teaming up with a rogue, badass Santa in a high-stakes, action-packed fight to save his family from the Kringles’ grip. That premise gives the film plenty of room to lean into the over-the-top tone Lewis has become known for since directing ‘Willy’s Wonderland.’

Ron Livingston and Rachel Bilson lead the cast as Mark and Julie Severson, while Arden Myrin and Thomas Lennon play the fanatical Kringles themselves. The ensemble also includes Rob Riggle, Donald Faison, Beverly D’Angelo and David Wain, rounding out a cast built for exactly the kind of unhinged holiday mayhem the film is promising.

Producer Andrew Ortenberg has previously spoken about the joy of bringing Lewis’s vision to the screen, describing the assembled cast as a testament to the filmmakers’ original and unhinged take on holiday spirit. With the film now confirmed for an October 30 release through Briarcliff Entertainment, horror-comedy fans looking for something to bridge the gap between Halloween and Christmas won’t have to wait much longer to see the Kringles’ true colors.
