‘Citadel’ Star Priyanka Chopra Jonas Turns the Academy Museum Gala Into a Gold Rush in Draped Vivienne Westwood Satin
Priyanka Chopra Jonas has spent years building one of the most globally recognized red carpet résumés in Hollywood. From her Met Gala debut in 2017 in a Ralph Lauren trench coat dress to her statement jewelry as a Bulgari ambassador, she knows how to command a camera. This week, she added another chapter, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s Academy Museum Gala look was a masterclass in sculptural elegance.
The sixth annual Academy Museum Gala took place on October 17 in Los Angeles, with Charlize Theron, Colman Domingo and John Carpenter honored. Taylor Swift delivered a special closing performance, and guests included Kim Kardashian, who channeled Elizabeth Taylor in an archival 1951 Balenciaga gown.
Amid the glamour, Chopra Jonas stood out in a champagne-gold satin gown from Vivienne Westwood Couture. The dress features a dramatic off-shoulder, cowl-style neckline that frames her collarbones, with the fluid fabric draping across her body before falling into a floor-length skirt with a soft train.

In the photos, she poses with her palms pressed together in a namaste gesture, her dark hair falling in loose waves over one shoulder. The satin glows against the backdrop of draped curtains, catching the light in long, liquid folds that twist around the waist and hip like sculpted fabric.
Delicate gold embellishments and chain-like detailing along the neckline add a subtle decorative touch without overpowering the gown’s lustrous finish. She wore a sparkling diamond necklace that sat close to her neck, along with a statement watch and minimal rings, and glamorous makeup finished the look.

The namaste pose is a familiar one for her. At the 2025 Met Gala, she folded her hands in the same graceful gesture when she stepped onto the carpet in a polka-dot Balmain Couture halter dress, a moment that was widely seen as a celebration of her roots.
That look was paired with Bulgari’s Magnus Emerald necklace, which centered on a 241.06-carat emerald, the largest faceted stone ever set by the house. It marked her fifth Met Gala appearance and underscored her role as one of the event’s most consistent global presences.

The gala look arrives during a notable stretch. In May, Chopra Jonas received the inaugural Global Vanguard Honor at Gold House’s fifth annual Gold Gala in Los Angeles, recognizing her 25-year career and the milestone since she won Miss World in 2000.
For that event, she wore a custom sculptural gown by designer Amit Aggarwal, created with stylist Ami Patel from a nearly 20-year-old chikankari saree. The look reportedly took six weeks to complete and was paired with Bvlgari High Jewelry. Compared with that deeply personal design, the Academy Museum Gala dress is lighter and more luminous.

Her calendar is just as full. In ‘The Bluff,’ which premiered on Prime Video on February 25, she plays Ercell “Bloody Mary” Bodden, a former pirate who must protect her family when her past catches up with her, opposite Karl Urban. She also starred in the action-comedy ‘Heads of State’ with John Cena and Idris Elba.
Next, she returns to Indian cinema after a six-year hiatus with S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘Varanasi,’ opposite Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran, which is scheduled for release on April 7, 2027. A report also says she has been confirmed as the female lead in ‘Krrish 4,’ which marks Hrithik Roshan’s directorial debut.
Chopra Jonas shared the carpet with a huge guest list. Taylor Swift, Kate Hudson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kerry Washington, Janelle Monáe and Maya Hawke attended, along with Anna Kendrick and Brittany Snow.
In a field of dramatic silhouettes, her satin gown stood out for its restraint. It proved that a single, beautifully draped fabric can make just as much impact as an elaborate construction.
The strength of the gown is in its movement. The cowl neckline frames her shoulders, the satin catches the light like liquid metal, and the warm champagne tone flatters her skin without feeling flashy.
It also fits her broader approach to fashion, which balances luxury with personal meaning. Whether she is wearing a re-imagined saree or a couture satin gown, she tends to choose pieces with a story.
