Disney+ is bringing back Power Rangers in a new live-action series, and the creators behind Percy Jackson and the Olympians are leading the project.

Showrunners Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz confirmed the news during a recent interview with MovieWeb at the blue carpet event for Percy Jackson Season 2.

Steinberg was straightforward when asked about the rumors, saying, “The rumor is true.” Shotz, while more cautious, expressed excitement about bringing the story to life.

“You are asking questions that you know I can’t answer. Let’s just say we very much hope to bring that story to life, so that’s all I can say at this point,” he said.

Neither Steinberg nor Shotz revealed whether the new series will continue the original 30-year legacy or introduce a completely new set of Rangers. Steinberg added, “I can not tell you, but I am very, very excited for that story.”

Reports about the reboot first surfaced in March, suggesting that Steinberg and Shotz would write, run, and executive produce the series.
