After spending more than 10 years playing Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe has finally revealed which movie from the famous franchise is his favorite. The actor recently looked back at all eight films and shared his personal ranking, giving fans a look at how he feels about the series years after it ended.

During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Radcliffe took part in a bracket-style ranking where he compared the Harry Potter movies against each other. While fans often have very different opinions about the best film in the series, Radcliffe had a clear winner.

The actor chose Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 as his favorite movie from the franchise. The 2011 film brought the story of Harry, Ron, and Hermione to an emotional ending and marked the final time Radcliffe played the character on the big screen.

For Radcliffe, the final chapter was the strongest way to finish the journey he had been part of since childhood. The movie delivered the final battle at Hogwarts and wrapped up many of the biggest storylines from the books.

However, Radcliffe’s ranking also included some surprising choices. One of the biggest debates came when he had to choose between Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Many fans consider Prisoner of Azkaban one of the best Harry Potter movies because of its darker tone and unique style under director Alfonso Cuarón. But Radcliffe decided to pick Goblet of Fire instead, explaining that he had a special connection to that movie because of his own experience making it.

“I know everyone wants me to say Azkaban. I know that’s how everyone else feels,” Radcliffe said on the podcast. “But I love the stuff I got to do on the fourth movie. It was awesome. I’ll take Goblet of Fire.”

The actor explained that filming Goblet of Fire was a memorable time for him, especially because he was a teenager while making the movie. Although the film is not always ranked highly by fans, Radcliffe still has strong memories of working on it.

On the other side of his ranking, Radcliffe revealed that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince sits at the bottom of his list. However, he made it clear that his issue was not with the movie itself, but with his own performance.

“That’s probably the bottom of the bracket for me. And that’s my own stuff. That’s not the film,” Radcliffe explained.

He admitted that watching himself during that period can be difficult because he was still young and learning as an actor. At the same time, he said he has become more positive about some of the earlier movies, including Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, which he now sees in a more positive light.

Radcliffe’s ranking comes as the Harry Potter world prepares for a new era. HBO is developing a new Harry Potter television series that will retell the original story with a new cast. The actor has previously supported the reboot and wished the new actors well as they take on the famous roles.

Even years after leaving Hogwarts behind, Radcliffe remains closely connected to the franchise. His personal ranking shows that while fans may debate which Harry Potter movie is the best, the actors who made the films have their own memories and favorites.
