Marvel Studios has plenty of projects currently in development or rumored to be in development. One of the most hyped-up projects, however, is ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ a soft reboot of an existing show with plenty of old and beloved faces returning to the screens.

Despite ‘Born Again’ being highly awaited, the development of the show was not without problems. Like most projects, it was also affected by the historic SAG-AFTRA strike, and, at some point, the creative differences between what the studio wanted and what the writers delivered grew to be too big, and ‘Daredevil’ was once again in development.

In late September 2023, Marvel Studios decided to overhaul the first season of the series after filming fewer than half of its episodes. Head writers Corman and Ord, along with the initial directors, were replaced due to the studio’s dissatisfaction with the direction, particularly citing a significant departure from the Netflix version and delays in featuring Daredevil in costume. The studio aimed to incorporate some existing footage while introducing new serialized elements and aligning more closely with the tone of the Netflix series, with Corman and Ord retaining executive producer credits. Dario Scardapane, previously involved in Netflix’s Daredevil spin-off ‘The Punisher,’ was appointed as the new showrunner in October 2023, alongside directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, known for their work on Marvel Studios’ ‘Moon Knight’ and the second season of ‘Loki.’

The extent of the overhauled season’s episode count remained uncertain, but we do know that half of the episodes need yet to be filmed, and if Charles Murphy is to be believed, the filming will resume in January.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is, however, not the only project rumored to resume filming at the start of the year. The Man Without Fear project is joined by ‘Wonder Man’ which is currently still in development hell, and ‘Thunderbolts.’

Mid-year seems to be dedicated to the ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot and ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’ Late 2024 filming is reserved for ‘Blade’ reboot and ‘Avengers 5’ – the movie that is continuing without Kang the Conqueror in an uncertain direction.
