‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 Will Tie Into This Upcoming MCU Movie, Confirms Marvel TV Boss
Daredevil is coming back. Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 was a huge hit for Marvel earlier this year.
Fans loved seeing Charlie Cox return as Daredevil, along with Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk and Jon Bernthal as the Punisher.
Now, Season 2 is almost here, and Marvel is starting to promote it. The studio is confident it will be just as successful, if not more, than the first season.
Recently, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios’ Head of TV and Streaming, revealed that the show has even been renewed for a third season, with filming expected to start early next year.
Marvel is also managing other big projects like Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday, but fans can rest assured that Daredevil’s story in New York will continue.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again will be connected to the upcoming Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland. Winderbaum shared the news at New York Comic Con, saying, “We are communicating a lot with the team on Spider-Man: Brand New Day to make sure that there’s coherence there. We don’t want to spoil anything, but it very much exists in the same world and it is important.”
He explained that even though the two projects are connected, they will each have their own style and story. “We’re in a shared universe together, but I would say just the Daredevil comic books, the Punisher comic books depicted a certain tone and an idea of New York in a different way than Spider-Man’s, but they both exist in the same universe,” Winderbaum said. “It’s similar. Everything lines up and the impacts are felt, but we’re able to tell different stories.”
Daredevil and Spider-Man have already crossed paths in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker needed a lawyer after his secret identity was revealed. He turned to Matt Murdock, who helped Peter with both his legal skills and vigilante powers.
While Murdock joked that he was just “a really good lawyer,” Peter knew there was more to him.
Fans can expect Season 2 to explore more of New York’s hero stories and see how Daredevil fits into the bigger Marvel world.
It’s exciting to see Daredevil and Spider-Man’s worlds connect again. This could lead to interesting storylines and even more crossover moments in the future. What do you think about this connection? Share your thoughts in the comments.
