David Corenswet Names His Choice for the Greatest James Bond Movie
David Corenswet, now famous as the new Superman, recently shared a personal favorite when it comes to movies. In a chat with Brittany Broski during her Royal Court series, Corenswet opened up about his hobbies, revealing that he’s a huge fan of both Star Wars and James Bond.
During their talk, Broski asked him about his “hot takes,” and Corenswet didn’t hold back. One of his strongest opinions involved the James Bond franchise. He quickly named Casino Royale as not only the best Bond film ever but also one of the best movies in general, in his view.
He went on to explain why he thinks that. Talking about the movie’s opening scene, he said, “And my other hot take is, have you seen Casino Royale? Do you remember the opening in black and white? There’s an MI6 guy who’s been stealing secrets and selling them on the side and Bond has been sent to go take care of him and so he confronts him in his office, it’s all black and white, it’s very noir. The guy pulls out his gun and click, no bullets. Bond says, ‘I know where you keep your gun.’”
BEHOLD! By hest of Lord @corenswet, we scoured the archives for his majesty's most contentious moving picture theory…

Corenswet then described how Bond ends up in a brutal fight where he’s forced to kill the agent in a bathroom. “Bond ends up having to drown him in a sink. It’s like really brutal,” he said. He also talked about the conversation Bond later has with another agent, who tells Bond that the first kill is always the hardest. According to Corenswet, that scene stands out: “That’s a real terrible way to kill somebody, he says: ‘Don’t worry, the second is…’ and then Bond shoots him. And then Bond says ‘yes, considerably…’”
He explained what he loved about that moment. He pointed out that while most people think Bond’s second kill was when he shoots the main bad guy later in the scene, he disagrees. He said Bond’s second kill actually happens when the man Bond drowned wakes up and tries to attack again. “He drowned the guy and then had to shoot him,” Corenswet said, adding that this made Bond’s first mission even darker.
Talking about the film as a whole, Corenswet didn’t hide his admiration. “It’s the greatest Bond film ever made, it’s one of the best movies of all time I think,” he said.
Casino Royale, directed by Martin Campbell and starring Daniel Craig, was a hit with both critics and fans when it released in 2006. Many praised the movie for its more serious tone and realistic style. It was seen as a fresh start for the Bond series, with Craig’s version of the character being tougher and more human. Critics liked the action, the story, and especially Craig’s performance, which helped the film become one of the most popular and highest-rated Bond movies ever made.
