DC Comics is seeing a surprising boom thanks to Batman. Both the mainline series by Matt Fraction and Jorge Jiménez and Absolute Batman by Scott Snyder, Nick Dragotta, and Eric Canete are selling extremely well. The popularity of these titles has created a lively, energetic atmosphere at the company.

Fraction and Jiménez’s Batman series kicked off with issue #1 in September 2025. Since then, it has steadily grown in popularity, becoming one of DC’s top-selling books. Fraction spoke about the success on the BIFF! BAM! POW! podcast, saying, “The reception has been huge, our numbers go up every issue – like that doesn’t happen. DC is weirded out by it. But like, they’re in a really strong place, which is incredible, the energy and the vibe up there is terrific.”

Absolute Batman has also been performing incredibly well. Fraction highlighted Scott Snyder’s leadership in managing the Absolute line and broader projects at DC. “Poor Scott Snyder, who is sort of like, it feels like a war movie where all of the upper management are wiped out and now there’s just the sarge who has to be in charge of everything, he didn’t sign up to be quarterback but now he’s quarterback. With everything that has happened with the Absolute line, everything at DC is so much fun right now,” Fraction said.

Since launching in October 2024, DC’s Absolute Universe has sold around 12 million units. Absolute Batman alone moves about 300,000 copies each month, showing that readers are eager for these high-profile stories. The success of these titles proves that Batman continues to be one of the strongest characters in comics today.

Seeing both Absolute Batman and the mainline series thriving shows that DC has found a winning formula, and it seems like this momentum will continue.

It’s great to see Batman capturing so much attention again. The combination of strong storytelling and consistent releases clearly resonates with readers. What do you think about DC’s current Batman success? Share your thoughts in the comments.
