Deborah Ann Woll Teases Karen Page’s Fate After ‘Daredevil: Born Again’

Few supporting characters in the Marvel universe have taken a longer road than Karen Page. She debuted on Netflix’s original ‘Daredevil‘ in 2015, survived the street-level wars of Hell’s Kitchen and returned to the story when the series was revived on Disney+. Now fans are wondering what happens to her when the curtain falls, and the Karen Page ending is finally getting some answers.

The news that ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ will conclude with its third season was reported on September 21, with the final season already wrapped and expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2027. Showrunner Dario Scardapane has exited the series as production moved toward completion. Deborah Ann Woll responded at the time with a message of gratitude, telling fans to enjoy the last season and saying the cast worked hard on it.

Now Woll is giving more insight into where Karen’s journey is headed. In an interview with Collider’s Maggie Lovitt, promoting her new thriller ‘The Cycle’, she was asked how longtime fans would feel about Karen’s ending. Woll told Collider that her hope is that when the screen fades to black, Karen is “just gonna go stop another Kingpin.”

Woll said her hope is that by the end, viewers feel there’s a logical conclusion to the arc Karen has been on, one that asks what it means to be a hero. She also floated the idea of whether someone can be their own hero on some level. In her view, the finale should feel like the beginning of a new chapter rather than a full stop.

She kept the circumstances of Karen’s ending under wraps, so there are no names, confrontations or details about where Karen might end up. But the framing suggests Karen walks away on her own terms. After 12 years with the character, Woll said, that kind of open-ended goodbye feels fitting.

The final season picks up with the heroes in a rough place. ‘Born Again’ season 2 ended with Matt Murdock being sent to prison after publicly revealing his identity as Daredevil, while Wilson Fisk has lost his position as mayor of New York City. Season 3 will explore how the world reacts to the revelation and, according to showrunner comments before his exit, draws inspiration from ‘The Devil in Cell-Block D’ comic storyline.

Karen has been caught up in that fallout. In season 2, she was detained, and Fisk visited her in her cell before she faced trial. That marked a big shift for a character who spent much of season 1 on the sidelines. Woll appeared in only three episodes of the first season, and her bigger role in season 2 helped fans reconnect with her.

Season 3 brings back a heavy-hitting cast. Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock, Vincent D’Onofrio as Fisk, and Woll as Karen, with Wilson Bethel, Margarita Levieva and Elden Henson’s legacy still felt. The season also welcomes back Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage, Finn Jones’ Danny Rand and Élodie Yung’s Elektra, which brings the Defenders back in force.

It’s a major payoff for a show that has built its identity on character-driven storytelling. With so many familiar faces returning, Karen’s place in the ensemble matters even more. Woll’s comments hint that her story will land as one of the emotional anchors of the finale.

Woll has also spoken about life beyond the show. In another interview, she said the series ending didn’t surprise her, and that she still imagines Karen continuing to fight injustice. Whether Marvel brings the character back is a decision above her authority, and she hasn’t been promised another appearance.

That mix of hope and realism fits the character. Karen has always been dogged and pushy in the best way, and Woll has long said that doggedness is her favorite thing to play. Her suggestion that Karen’s story could continue beyond the screen leaves the door open without making a promise.

For a series that started life as a reboot and evolved into a three-season story, giving Karen a hopeful exit feels right. Rather than a tragic send-off, Woll’s vision is a character heading into a new adventure. Fans who’ve followed her since the Netflix days can look forward to a goodbye that honors her growth.

With season 3 expected in 2027, there’s still time to speculate about how it all comes together. Whatever Marvel has planned, Woll’s words suggest Karen’s fight is far from over.
