The recently released deleted scene from Jurassic World Rebirth gives fans a closer look at the franchise’s famous velociraptors, a moment many wish had stayed in the final cut. Directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp, Jurassic World Rebirth came out in 2025 as the fourth film in the Jurassic World series and the seventh overall in the Jurassic Park saga.

The movie stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Ed Skrein.

The story takes place three years after Jurassic World Dominion and follows a team traveling to a deserted island research facility. This island is home to the three largest prehistoric creatures and provides a critical source of DNA samples needed to create a heart disease treatment.

Along the way, the group also rescues a family stranded on the island, and both groups fight to survive the dangers they face.

Jurassic World Rebirth premiered in London on June 17, 2025, before opening widely in the U.S. and Canada on July 2. While the film received mixed reviews, many thought it was better than previous Jurassic World movies. It made an impressive $768 million worldwide, placing it as the fourth-highest-grossing film of 2025, with a production budget between $180 and $225 million.

The deleted velociraptor scene, shared online via X, reveals a moment that would have been a real treat for fans. It shows the expedition team and the rescued Delgado family almost encountering a pack of velociraptors inside the abandoned InGen facility on Île Saint-Hubert. This would have been a fantastic nod to the original Jurassic Park films and the previous Jurassic World movies, where velociraptors played a big role.

The scene is available on the digital release of the movie.

This scene also highlights a fresh design for the velociraptors, different from what audiences got to see in the final movie. Fans were eager to see these creatures up close, especially because the new look nods back to the way velociraptors appeared in the first Jurassic Park movie and Jurassic Park III from 2001. In Jurassic Park III, velociraptor eggs and the characters’ efforts to steal them were an important part of the story. Unfortunately, the new raptor design and the exciting encounter were mostly cut from the theatrical release, which many feel was a missed opportunity.

Despite this, director Gareth Edwards’ Jurassic World Rebirth has been a major hit. The movie’s thrilling story, action scenes, and fresh characters have brought new energy to the franchise. The new deleted velociraptor scene offers a glimpse of what could have been a classic moment, connecting back to the series’ roots while pushing forward the story in exciting ways.
