Demi Moore and Keke Palmer are stealing the spotlight in the newly released trailer for I Love Boosters, the upcoming film from writer-director Boots Riley. According to reports, the movie is set to premiere at the SXSW Film and Television Festival in Austin before hitting theaters on May 22 via Neon.

The film features a star-studded cast, including Naomi Ackie, Taylour Paige, Poppy Liu, Eiza González, LaKeith Stanfield, Will Poulter, and Don Cheadle. In I Love Boosters, Palmer plays Corvette, the leader of a group of women who target a high-end fashion mogul played by Moore. Their plan is to steal clothing from the designer’s stores and sell the pieces at a lower price.

In the trailer, Palmer delivers a bold line that sets the tone for her character: “I shop here a lot, and I feel like I should have it all. I just want to take it all home, heat it up and shoot it out my eyes. I just feel like, ‘Give it to me. It’s mine anyway.’” Moore’s character responds with equal fire, declaring, “They take my shit and sell it because they’re low-class urban bitches — with all due respect to urban bitches.”

Riley, known for his 2018 feature Sorry to Bother You and the Prime Video series I’m a Virgo, wrote and directed the film. Producers on the project include Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swet, Allison Rose Carter, and Jon Read.

I Love Boosters was selected as the opening night film for SXSW last year. Claudette Godfrey, the festival’s vice president of film and TV, praised Riley’s vision, saying, “Boots has created another wildly original and boundary-pushing vision that’s deliciously unpredictable.”

With its mix of fashion, crime, and dark humor, the trailer makes it clear that I Love Boosters will be a bold and unconventional story. Palmer and Moore’s dynamic performances promise plenty of energy and attitude, making the film one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

This movie looks wild, stylish, and full of attitude. Boots Riley has a talent for creating stories that are unpredictable and thought-provoking, and the trailer makes it clear that I Love Boosters will be no exception.
