‘Diarra From Detroit’ Season 2, Episode 6 Release Date and Time
Detroit’s favorite amateur sleuth is closing in on the finish line, and fans are counting down to the next chapter of her chaotic summer. ‘Diarra From Detroit’ has kept audiences hooked since its Paramount+ return, blending true-crime energy with laugh-out-loud comedy in a way few shows manage to pull off.
Created by and starring Diarra Kilpatrick, the series follows Diarra Brickland as she tries, unsuccessfully, to enjoy a quiet summer in her hometown. What starts as a seemingly harmless furniture recovery mission quickly spirals into a triple homicide investigation, a citywide treasure hunt and another trip deep into Detroit’s criminal underbelly.
Now, as the season barrels toward its climax, episode 6 is set to drop the next piece of the puzzle. Diarra From Detroit returns for Season 2 on Wednesday, July 29, with two episodes at launch before shifting to a weekly release through September 9.
Based on that weekly cadence, episode 6 is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. New installments have consistently landed on Paramount+ at 12:00 PM GMT, according to episode scheduling data for the series’ second episode, which would translate to roughly 8 a.m. ET and 5 a.m. PT for U.S. viewers.
Where the Season Left Off
The back half of Season 2 has only raised the stakes for Diarra and her crew. Diarra finds a witness to the Coney murders who will only trade his testimony for a mythical hidden treasure, leading the crew into one of the city’s most dangerous neighborhoods to find it, pitting her against a legendary villain.
That treasure-hunt plotline has become the connective tissue of the season, pulling Diarra deeper into the city’s underworld with each passing week. The simple case of a missing antique balloons into a triple homicide involving warring street gangs and requires a citywide treasure hunt.
Adding to the chaos is Diarra’s personal life, which is proving just as tangled as her casework. Diarra’s biological ticking clock goes into overdrive as her doubts about boyfriend Chris are compounded by the reemergence of a matured ex-boyfriend eager to have kids, played by Cliff “Method Man” Smith, along with her lingering feelings for her childhood friend Danger, played by Jon Chaffin, who is secretly alive and well upstate.
A Season Full of Twists
Critics have praised how the show balances its mystery elements with genuine heart and humor. Season two changes course from Diarra’s schoolteacher career to life as a burgeoning private eye, and shares considerable DNA with ‘Nancy Drew,’ complete with a hunt for an antique desk, secret societies and shifting alliances.
The show also continues to double as a love letter to its setting. Every episode sports a dizzying array of facts about Detroit’s history, including its role in the Underground Railroad, Prohibition and its Motown heyday.
That mix of local flavor and twisty plotting has kept the show’s momentum strong since its premiere. Since the release of its first season on March 21, 2024, the series has captured both audiences and critics as the number one new cable series among Black viewers to date with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 100%.
Where to Watch and What’s Next
‘Diarra From Detroit’ made a notable platform switch for its sophomore run. With the BET+ app now shut down, the mystery-comedy from Kilpatrick’s mind comes out exclusively on Paramount+.
That consolidation means every episode, old and new, now lives in one place for subscribers. All eight episodes from the debut season are now streaming on Paramount+, alongside the new season, as BET+ titles have been folded into the streamer.

With only three episodes left after episode 6, including the September 9 finale, Diarra’s treasure hunt and messy love life are both barreling toward a reckoning. Season 2 explores Diarra, who, over the summer, is determined to leave the chaos behind and finally enjoy a little peace, instead landing in the middle of a grisly new crime that sets off another wildly unpredictable adventure through Detroit’s criminal underworld.
