Disney Dining Heist: Thief Strikes Popular Restaurant Wearing Scuba Gear
Authorities in Florida are searching for a man who robbed a popular restaurant at Disney Springs in what appeared to be scuba gear.
The incident occurred just after midnight on Monday at Paddlefish, a waterfront dining spot in the shopping and entertainment area at Walt Disney World, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), as reported by FOX 35 Orlando.

The suspect, dressed in all black with goggles and blue rubber-like gloves, allegedly demanded that two employees depositing cash into the safe “get down” and “close their eyes,” according to an incident report. The amount taken is estimated to be between $10,000 and $20,000.
Interestingly, the suspect was not seen with a weapon and did not imply that he had one, the report noted. Some local reports suggest that the man may have escaped by jumping into the water where the restaurant’s replica steamboat sits.
No one was physically harmed during the robbery, though one employee told deputies she “was in fear of her life.” Paddlefish, known for its “360 degree waterfront views,” is part of Disney Springs but is owned and operated by Levy Restaurants. A spokesperson for the restaurant group declined to comment on the incident.
Walt Disney World also directed inquiries about the ongoing investigation to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
This unusual robbery has caught the attention of locals and Disney fans alike. The image of a thief in what looks like scuba gear robbing a restaurant is not something you see every day. What do you think about this bizarre crime? Share your thoughts in the comments.
