Disney+ is bringing TikTok-style content to its platform after Disney and TikTok announced a new partnership that will allow fan-made videos to appear across both services.

The companies described the agreement as a “first-of-its-kind” content-sharing deal. The partnership will give selected TikTok creators the chance to make videos using Disney-related material, including official photos, clips, and other assets connected to Disney characters and franchises.

According to Disney and TikTok, creators who choose to participate will have their videos considered for a special collection that will appear on TikTok as well as Disney+ through the platform’s vertical video feature, known as Verts.

The move is designed to connect Disney’s massive library of characters and stories with the online communities that already spend hours creating content around them. Fans of franchises like Marvel, Star Wars, and Moana regularly make reaction videos, theories, edits, and discussions on social media, and Disney now wants to bring some of that fan activity closer to its own streaming service.

Disney’s chief marketing and brand officer, Asad Ayaz, said the partnership reflects how fans have always played an important role in the company’s storytelling.

“The best storytellers are fans first,” Ayaz said. “That has always been true at Disney, and today, fans are celebrating our stories in entirely new ways. This collaboration creates a new bridge between the stories we tell and the creativity they inspire, giving creators a bigger stage to share what they’ve made, and audiences more to discover on Disney+ every day.”

TikTok also highlighted the growing importance of creators in shaping entertainment conversations. Dawn Yang, TikTok’s global head of entertainment, said the partnership will help bring fan creativity to a wider audience.

“Creators are at the heart of everything we do at TikTok. Their creativity extends the life of films and shows into conversations that fans discover and share,” Yang said. “Together with Disney, we’re bringing the authentic creator expression of the TikTok community to Disney+, inviting audiences to experience the shared creativity that makes fandom so powerful.”

The partnership will first launch in the United States within the next few months before expanding to other regions. Disney and TikTok have not announced an exact launch date yet.

The deal comes as streaming companies continue to focus on short-form vertical videos. More viewers are watching content on their phones, and many platforms are trying to adapt to the popularity of apps like TikTok and Instagram Reels.

Disney introduced its Verts feature earlier this year, allowing users to watch vertical videos inside Disney+. The company had already suggested that creator-made content could eventually become part of that experience.

Other streaming platforms have also been experimenting with similar features. Services such as Netflix, Peacock, and HBO Max have added more short-form video options as they look for new ways to keep audiences engaged.

For Disney, the partnership is not only about adding more videos to Disney+. It is also about recognizing how fans help keep franchises alive between major releases. Online communities now play a major role in building excitement around movies and shows, and Disney appears ready to make that fan conversation part of the streaming experience itself.
