Disney Is Reportedly Casting for a New Musical That Could Actually Be ‘Camp Rock 3’
And while Disney is best known for its animated production, the House of the Mouse has also left a mark on other genres as well, and the musical is one of the genres that Disney often goes to, even in its animated movies.
Those who were born in the mid- to late 90s and early 00s will probably remember the Camp Rock series, which was a very popular original production that basically launched the careers of Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers.
Now, Disney is working on a new musical and the source of the rumor claims that it could very well be Camp Rock 3, but allow us to share the details with you below.
The piece of information comes from Daniel Richtman, who shared it via his Patreon account. Richtman has a solid track record, which is why we are reporting on this, although – as always – take it with a grain of salt until Disney actually confirms it.
So, what is Richtman saying? Well, at this moment, Disney is supposedly working on an untitled musical and casting for the lead role of Sage (ages 12–17), a musically gifted teen, is currently underway.
The project being led by executive producer Tim Federle (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) with a script from Camp Rock 2 writer Eydie Faye. The tagline for the movie is: “When a popular band needs to find a new opening act, they launch a contest to discover the next big musical talent.”
Based on the information provided, as well as some core ties to the two previous movies, Richtman claims that this could very well be the next Camp Rock movie. Of course, Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers won’t be the leads anymore, but some cameos cannot be excluded at this point.
Filming is set for late summer through fall 2025, and based on everything, Camp Rock fans really could have something to look forward to.
