Natasha Lyonne is speaking out after a confusing incident on a flight from Los Angeles to New York following the Euphoria season 3 premiere. The story has spread after reports about what happened onboard were shared by Page Six and later followed by statements from Lyonne and other outlets.

According to Page Six, the actress was on a late-night flight when crew members tried to get her attention before takeoff.

Reports say she was not responding to requests from flight attendants, including instructions to secure her seatbelt and close her laptop. The situation reportedly caused the plane to return to the gate, and she was asked to leave, which delayed the flight.

Lyonne later responded publicly on social media platform X. She explained that she had taken a sleep aid before the flight and was trying to rest after a busy night. She said she boarded normally and expected to sleep through the flight.

In her post, she wrote, “Thanks for the great reporting, @enews. Indeed, I took a Lunesta once seated, to ensure some shut eye on the Delta One red eye flight to NYC. Boarded seamlessly with just a backpack and sneakers, eager for a nap.”

She continued by explaining her plans after landing and said she was meant to go straight into work interviews. She also addressed the outcome of the flight and added, “Was looking forward to seeing Drew & an in depth convo, but I guess ICE had other plans & I was detained instead. Sign of the times, I guess.”

She also thanked people who supported her and apologized to passengers who were affected by the delay. She said she had never had issues with either the airline or airport security before.

Later reporting from TMZ included a statement from a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson. They said, “Neither ICE nor TSA escorted or detained Natasha Lyonne.” This directly challenged the version of events suggested in her post.

Representatives for the airline involved did not comment publicly, and questions about the incident remain unanswered by immigration authorities.

Despite the situation, Lyonne still made it to New York shortly after. She attended the premiere of the documentary Lorne, which focuses on Lorne Michaels, the creator of Saturday Night Live. She is also connected to the show as a former guest host.

The incident came during a busy period for Lyonne, who has been promoting her work and attending events around the Euphoria universe, although her exact role in the show has not been revealed.

In recent months, Lyonne has also been open about her personal struggles and recovery journey, speaking publicly about setbacks and progress in her sobriety.

This situation shows how quickly stories can spread and turn confusing when different accounts clash. It also shows how public figures can be misunderstood in stressful travel moments.
