‘Dune: Awakening’ Finally Gets a Release Date – Arriving This May
The wait is almost over for Dune: Awakening, the upcoming survival MMO from Conan Exiles developer Funcom. Set in an alternate Dune universe where Paul Atreides was never born, the game lets players start with nothing and fight to survive on the harsh desert planet of Arrakis.
After much anticipation, we now have an official release date—Dune: Awakening will launch on May 20 exclusively for PC via Steam. The game will be priced at $49.99 (UK pricing has yet to be announced).
“Inspired by Frank Herbert’s legendary sci-fi novel and Legendary Entertainment’s award-winning films, Dune: Awakening is crafted by Funcom’s veteran developers to deliver an experience that resonates with both Dune enthusiasts and survival game fans alike,” a press release states.
While the full game won’t be out until May, players can already dive in today. Funcom has released a character creation tool and a PC performance tester on Steam, allowing fans to design their avatars and check if their systems can handle the game.
