‘Dune: Part Three’ Cast Stuns in a New Video as the Final Chapter Nears Release
Few franchises can turn a promotional clip into a global event the way ‘Dune‘ can. Denis Villeneuve’s trilogy has built an audience that treats every trailer, poster and cast appearance as something worth dissecting. With ‘Dune: Part Three’ now less than 8 weeks from theaters, the campaign for the final chapter is shifting into high gear.
The story so far has been told in carefully spaced steps. The first teaser arrived in March, followed by a second trailer in July at a global IMAX fan event, and then a third and final trailer that leaned into Paul Atreides’ darker turn. Along the way, the studio has kept the focus on the ensemble, showing how many familiar faces are returning for Villeneuve’s farewell to Arrakis.
Now the cast itself is stepping into the spotlight. A new short video has landed online showing several members of the ‘Dune: Part Three’ ensemble crowded together in the frame against a bright, glowing backdrop. It runs just 5 seconds, but the playful, off-the-cuff energy is a striking contrast to the sweeping desert epics fans are used to.
The clip is a reminder of how stacked this lineup is. Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya return as Paul and Chani, joined by Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Jason Momoa, Charlotte Rampling and Florence Pugh. Anya Taylor-Joy, who made a brief appearance in ‘Dune: Part Two’, takes on a much more prominent role as Alia Atreides.
Among the newcomers, Robert Pattinson plays the villainous Scytale, and Isaach de Bankolé joins as Farok, a Fremen fighter who becomes one of Paul’s Fedaykin. Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke also appear as Paul and Chani’s twin children. With that many headliners, even a few seconds of casual footage feels like an event.

The promotional push has also taken on an international flavor. South Korea has announced that ‘Dune: Part Three’ will premiere there on December 16, making it the first country in the world to see the film. Reports suggest the honor is linked to the strong performance of ‘Dune: Part Two’ in the market.
That early opening sits ahead of the film’s December 18 release elsewhere, and it follows a pattern seen across this holiday season of big blockbusters opening in key territories a couple of days early. Warner Bros. is clearly eager to build momentum before the wider rollout.
The story itself marks a major shift. The film is based on Frank Herbert’s ‘Dune Messiah’ and picks up 17 years after the events of ‘Part Two’. Villeneuve has called that novel by far his favorite book of the series, and he has described the new film as more action-packed and tense than its predecessors.
Reports also say the movie is the shortest of the trilogy. Its runtime is listed as 2 hours and 20 minutes on the official IMAX website, compared with 2 hours and 35 minutes for the first film and 2 hours and 46 minutes for ‘Part Two’. A tighter running time fits with the sense of momentum building through the final trailer.
The earlier films also set a high bar. The first movie made about $400 million worldwide and ‘Part Two’ earned roughly $700 million, and ‘Part Two’ won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects in March 2025.

Of course, the film won’t have the weekend to itself. It opens on the same day as Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, a clash fans have nicknamed ‘Dunesday’, and early tracking has reportedly pointed to both films chasing massive opening weekends. ‘Dune’ does hold one advantage, with reports saying it has secured IMAX screens exclusively for 3 weeks after release.
That makes every piece of marketing count, including lighthearted cast videos that remind audiences how much the trilogy has meant to its stars. For a series that built its reputation on scale and gravity, a few seconds of warmth might be the perfect way to say goodbye.
